ROUTINE BLOOD TESTS TO STOP
The GP practice has been instructed to stop performing routine blood tests by NHS England, due to a shortage of blood collection tubes/bottles. This is a national directive and will affect all GPs and hospitals in England.
This is likley to be in effect throughout Sept 2021 and the practice will restart taking blood as soon as we are allowed to do so.
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
